Ahlstrom announces price hike for speciality materials

December 23, 2014 - Finland

Ahlstrom, a global high performance fibre-based materials company, has announced increase in the price for building, wall coverings, and specialties materials produced by the building and energy business area of the company.

The price increases will be made to compensate for the continuous hike in certain raw material costs and utilities-related inflation.

Rise in the rate of the materials will affect the products of the building and energy business area worldwide, and will be effective starting on January 1, 2015 at the latest. The increases will be approximately 10 per cent on average, depending on markets, products, and the agreements in place.

Ahlstrom’s building and energy business area products are used in a variety of applications including wall coverings, floorings, building panels, composite reinforcements, automotive interiors, apparel, fabric care, and wound care.

The building and energy business area has production sites in six countries.

Ahlstrom materials are used in everyday applications such as filters, medical fabrics, life science and diagnostics, wall coverings, and food packaging. (GK)
