Exel Composites, a leading composite technology company that designs, manufactures, and markets composite products and solutions for demanding applications, has entered into an agreement with BMW, one of the world’s leading premium manufacturers of automobiles to develop next generation carbon fibre –reinforced parts for passenger cars.

BMW has been investing in the development of lighter and more fuel-efficient vehicles for a number of years. BMW is the first car manufacturer using carbon fibre -technologies for serial production in their i3 and i8 models.

The co-operation agreement covers the development and delivery of complex carbon and carbon/glass hybrid profiles for automotive applications, Exel said in a statement.
