Ahlstrom to increase price of specialty nonwoven materials

Ahlstrom, a global high performance fibre-based materials company, has announced that it will increase prices of specialty nonwoven materials produced by its Building and Energy business, effective January 1, 2016.

The price increase of 7 per cent is being carried out to ensure sustainable financial performance of the business unit, the company said in a statement.

Specialty nonwoven materials are mainly used in building, furniture, hygiene, wound care and apparel applications.

Ahlstrom’s Building and Energy business area has production sites in six countries and its products are used in a variety of applications including wall coverings, floorings, building panels, composite reinforcements, automotive interiors, apparel, fabric care, and wound care. The Building and Energy business area has production sites in six countries.

In 2014, Ahlstrom’s net sales amounted to €1 billion. (RKS)
