October 14, 2016 - France

The team at manufacturer of composites reinforcements, Chomarat is delivering a lecture on how their solutions meet automotive demand, with a specific focus on low cost advanced composites at the JEC Forums in Knoxville, Tennessee which runs October 13-14. The team will share with attendees its ongoing development for applications in the automobile sector.

Chomarat is working on formatting very heavy tow low-cost carbon fibre (LCCF) into C-PLY and proposes design optimisation using low cost carbon fibre input from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).

According to the French company, working together with automotive suppliers and ORNL, Chomarat can handle heavy tows and meet many benchmark standards.

“C-PLY combines the most economical performance option with cost effective moulding processes,” Chomarat said. (AR)
