Building structures with textiles contest at Techtextil

Technical textiles and nonwovens trade show Techtextil to be held in May 2017, will organise ‘Textile Structures for New Building’ competition for students. The show invites students of civil engineering, product design and related disciplines to enter the competition with their ideas for building with textiles or textile reinforced materials.

The organiser of Techtextil, has invited interested students to send entries by February 26, 2016 for the competition, which is sponsored by the international TensiNet network with prize money totalling €8,000.

Through this competition, Techtextil presents innovative and practical examples of building with textiles or textile-reinforced materials and promotes communication between established experts and students and young professionals.

The competition is partnered by Architonic, an online platform for architecture and design and will be supervised by Prof Werner Sobek, director of the Institute for Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design (ILEK) at the University of Stuttgart. (AR)
