April 23, 2019 - India

Ahmedabad Textile Industry’s Research Association (ATIRA) will present two nanofibre based projects for investors at the one-day National Investors’ Conclave on Technical Textiles (NICTT), to be held in Coimbatore on April 24, 2019. ATIRA will present an antiviral facemask and a water filter cartridge bottle, both of them made using nanofibre.

The antiviral facemask is made using nanofiber-based technology, is cost-effective, and is a very highly efficient product for the market, according to ATIRA. The other product, nanofibre-based water filter cartridge bottle is movable, and it can filter muddy water to drinkable water. It would be useful for travellers, hikers and school children.

At NICTT, for the first time ever, technical textile project proposals would be easily explained by eminent speakers from all fields of technical textiles, according to the organisers. The event is being jointly organised by Indian Texpreneurs Federation (ITF), Indian Technical Textile Association (ITTA), and the Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA).

Besides ATIRA’s projects, presentations at NICTT would include biodegradable polymer manufacturing and applications, nanofibre application to improve anti-clogging property of geotextiles, polymeric pressure sensor for smart wearable textiles, flexible conductive fabric for EMI shielding application, textile hard waste recycling line for automotives, airlay nonwoven lines for high bulk nonwovens, and digital printing applications and products. These technologies would be among those that would be available for potential new investors.

The event is expected to generate valuable exposure to the participants by providing them cost-effective and accessible products and solutions. It will provide opportunities for collaborative innovations, joint ventures, etc in different untapped areas.

Existing manufacturers who want to diversify their product portfolio, start-ups, as well as agents, dealers and distributors can attend the event that will bring finance, knowhow and technology together.

Speakers at the conclave include technology and machinery manufacturers, consultants, individual specialists, and officials from centres of excellence as well as government R&D agencies. (RKS)
