12 composite solutions get CCE-JEC innovation awards

Twelve composites solutions have got the CCE-JEC Innovation Awards for 2019. CCE-JEC Innovation Awards were set up in 2005. The awards are given at the China Composites Expo. The China Composites Expo trade show is organised by the China FRP Institute. The awards have been given in the areas of raw materials, new applications, and process and equipment.

In the area of raw materials, continuous fibre reinforced thermoplastic composite organo sheet by Kingfa Carbon Fibre Materials Development has received the award. The organo sheet is used for automotive parts such as automobile door panels, anti-collision beams, and seat frames, instead of metal parts. The organo sheet can be processed into a hybrid structure by molding-injection together with fibre reinforced modified plastic. The Weight saving can reach more than 30 per cent.

Sino Polymer’s UV curing prepreg and its construction technology has also got the award. Other selected are one way air permeability membrane BM9130 by Leadgo Tech, and BYK C8013 coupling agent by BYK Additives.

In the area of New Applications, Hiwing Materials’ large size tubular composite for bearing beam has been selected. The large size tubular composite for bearing-beam is a primary load-carrying structure of a solar power unmanned aerial vehicle, and it is the first large-size tubular composite that passed the NDT which is made with the domestic high modulus carbon fibres.

Other selected in the area include 5G radome cover by Nanjing Fiberglass Research & Design Institute, Pickup box made by SMC composites - CSP Victall Structural Composites, LZ76 3.X CFRP structural wind turbine blade by Lianyungang Zhongfu lianzhong Composites Group, high stiffness and large slenderness ratio carbon fibre roll shaft by Zibo Langda Composite Material, Insulation tank for carrier rocket launching at sea by Shanghai FRP Research Institute, Composite antenna pressure proof cover by Harbin FRP Research Institute,

In the area of Process and Equipment, aerobook structure and stress rapid iterative design platform by Shanghai Aerobook Industrial, has been awarded. Aerobook is a new generation of aviation composite materials (including metal materials) structure and stress rapid iterative design platform based on several dozens of aviation consulting design project processes and customer research and development requirements.
