Arville's 4WS and ComfortShell fabrics attract buyers

December 18, 2019 - United Kingdom

Arville, which introduced Arville 4WS (four-way-stretch) and Arville ComfortShell fabrics, specifically aimed at key personnel within Australasia’s firefighting, police, military and first-responder sectors, at the AFAC19 fire and emergency management conference in Melbourne, is now getting enquiries from the interested parties regarding the new fabrics.

The specialist range of innovate fabrics have been designed to offer maximum comfort, movement and protection for firefighters, and first responders. The participation followed on from an equally fruitful attendance at Techtextil in Frankfurt, earlier in the year.

Andy Smith, Arville’s Group head of marketing, said: “We recognised that there was a gap in the market for materials which, as well as giving high levels of heat and flame protection, are lightweight and non-bulky to allow firefighters much greater freedom to actually do their jobs.”

“As a result of AFAC19, we have been inundated with enquiries about 4WS and ComfortShell, which address problems experienced by firefighters in terms of general mobility, heat exhaustion and moisture management within the garments,” Smith said.

Smith continued: “Both of these patented fabrics offer sophisticated thermal protection and moisture management, as well as a high level of flexibility, movement and comfort.”

Arville is becoming increasingly recognised as the supplier of choice for specialist technical textiles due to its ability to develop and deliver new innovations to the market. These latest materials for personal protection equipment (PPE) form just part of a wider portfolio of high-performance fabrics which they have engineered for aerospace, military, industrial and filtration end applications.

Smith said: “Since AFAC we have become involved in several large tenders and we are confident of progressing them.”
