Kusumgar ties up with DRDO for manufacturing parachutes

Indian technical textiles manufacturer Kusumgar Corporates has tied up with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to manufacture combat-free fall (CFF) parachute system. The technology was transferred to company managing director Siddharth Kusumgar during the DEFEXPO in Lucknow by DRDO chairman G Satheesh Reddy recently.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath were present at the occasion.
CFF parachute system provides total solutions to paratroopers for jumping from a height as high as 30,000 feet. It can glide up to 30 km range and can land at the desired target. It can be used in high altitude high opening (HAHO) as well as in high altitude low opening (HALO) modes.
Kusumgar has been working with DRDO for several years and has partnered with the organisation in development of various solutions to meet the needs of the armed forces.
Established in 1970, Kusumgar has proven credentials in the arena of specialised textiles with a comprehensive range of textiles for a wide spectrum of applications.
