Shape to ensure stable production despite coronavirus fear

March 20, 2020 - United Kingdom

Shape has been in discussions with suppliers to ensure production remains stable with sufficient contingency stock in the wake of fears rising due to coronavirus outbreak. Shape provides precision composite machined tooling to the motorsport, automotive and aerospace industries as well as 5 axis machining foams and carbon composite materials.

“We have been closely working with our suppliers to ensure we have options going forward. Suppliers have informed us formally that they have re-sourced components and materials from operating manufacturing plants as well as us discussing contingency stock for the next 2-3 months as a minimum,” said managing director of Shape, Ryan Muller.

“Whilst the possibility of a UK ‘lock-down’ as has happened in other countries is possible, we are doing everything we can to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum. We are using split shifts as well as encouraging home working to be as flexible as possible with our staff,” added Muller.
