Hygiene Austria makes face masks for school children

The Austrian company, Hygiene Austria, is focusing on health protection for children by launching the production of children’s protective face masks just in time for the resumption of school lessons. The company, recently established by Lenzing and Palmers Textil, has been manufacturing mouth-nose and FFP2 protective face masks in Austria up until now.
The existing product offering of mouth-nose and FFP2 face masks by Hygiene Austria is being extended to include face masks for children. Within the context of a visit to the production facilities, pupils and their school principal, Marion Amri, gained an insight into face mask manufacturing in Wiener Neudorf. The management board members of Hygiene and mayor of Wiener Neudorf, Herbert Janschka, were present and accompanied the school visitors on their tour.
The rapid cooperation of the experienced companies also enables the high demand for children’s face masks to be fulfilled in the phase of reopening schools. The restart of school involved major challenges to many pupils. Not all children had well-functioning masks at their disposal. Many of the masks were already torn after a short time or were unpleasant to wear.
“We are now producing children’s face masks made of high-quality and colourful nonwovens. The further diversification of our product portfolio is designed to send out an important signal on protecting our children,” Stefan Doboczky, CEO of Lenzing said in a press release.
“We were able to address the particularly important issue of wearing comfort for children in manufacturing these face masks thanks to our years of experience in the textile sector. In our industry one has to quickly respond to new trends and development”, Tino Wieser, member of the board of Palmers said.
