US’ Monadnock Non-Wovens introduces HTAC Veil

December 06, 2023 - United States Of America

Monadnock Non-Wovens (MNW) has introduced HTAC Veil, a new generation of veils used in the corrosion barrier of FRP (fibreglass reinforced plastic) equipment.

MNW designed and developed the binder free HTAC apertured veil that is produced with meltblown ECTFE (ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene) fluoropolymer resin.

Superior to other polymeric materials on the market, the benefits of HTAC include very high chemical and abrasion resistance at high temperatures, and excellent fire retardancy (flame spread index of 0 per ASME-84), the company said in a press release.

HTAC Veil significantly extends the performance, integrity, and life of FRP tanks, tankers, scrubbers, pipes, ducts and stacks. Product characteristics include very high chemical resistance against strong acids, sodium hydroxide, sodium hypochlorite, chlorine dioxide and solvents. With a high permeation resistance, it reduces blistering in hot concentrated hydrochloric acid. It has an apertured hole pattern of IPS-10 and is easy to inspect in a 100 mils FRP corrosion barrier.

“We are pleased to offer the HTAC Veil for critical manufacturing processes,” said MNW president Jim Cree. “As for all MNW products, HTAC is manufactured with renewable electricity.”
