Shape Machining, a provider of precision composite machine tools, has increased its manufacturing capacity by employing additional pattern makers, for the Formula One (F1) car. F1 car is a single-seat racing car used in Formula One competitions. The additional workforce will allow the company to reduce lead times and achieve tight deadline RFQ's.

Since being founded in 2014, Shape has steadily been increasing its workforce and reviewing skill gaps, ensuring there are training plans in place and to guarantee cross-functional teams within the business.

"We are absolutely delighted to have a solid skill base as well as a large variety of competency within the business. Having additional highly skilled people with experience within the F1 industry, has allowed increased capacity for car build and we hope to continue adding to this in 2020," said Ryan Muller managing director.

"As well as additional direct staff, we now also have a dedicated scheduling team liaising with shop floor management, guaranteeing increased workflow in the business as well as better communication and ensuring the customers' requirements are relayed from the office to the shop floor with zero errors," Muller added.
