Swiss fair Index20 attracts over 500 exhibitors, 9,300 visitors

Switzerland-based leading nonwovens exhibition Index20 concluded recently with a message of positivity for the future. Over 500 exhibitors from 44 countries displayed their innovative creations at the global event in anticipation of new business. More than 9,300 visitor entries were recorded on-site and over a thousand on the virtual platform.

India initiates review of duty on Chinese tyre cord fabric

India's ministry of commerce and industry has initiated a sunset review of anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of nylon tyre cord fabric from China. The Association of Synthetic Fibre Industry, on behalf of SRF Ltd and Century Enka Ltd, had filed a review petition for continued imposition of the duty on imports of nylon tyre cord fabric from China.

The tax incidence on sanitary napkins before and after GST is the same or less, the finance ministry has said. In pre-GST, they attracted concessional excise duty of 6 per cent and 5 per cent VAT and, the pre-GST estimated total tax incidence on sanitary napkins was 13.68 per cent. Therefore, 12 per cent GST rate has been provided for sanitary napkins.
