VTT Research Centre to host Nonwovens Innovation Academy in Finland

VTT Research Centre will be hosting the 2022 Nonwovens Innovation Academy (NIA) in Jyvaskyla, Finland from May 11-12, 2022. The NIA will bring together academics, students, scientists and industry experts to encourage the sharing of knowledge, research and developments that will support the innovation and growth in the nonwovens industry.

Belgium’s Edana opens registration for Quality & Audit Programme

Belgium’s Edana has opened registration to converters and suppliers for the Quality and Audit Programme (QAP). The objective is to provide the absorbent hygiene products and the wet wipes industry, with a harmonised quality and hygiene standard, listing the requirements this industry needs to meet to help assure finished consumer products are safe.

Production of nonwovens in Greater Europe rises by 2% in 2021

In 2021, the production of nonwovens in Greater Europe increased in volume by 2.0 per cent to reach a total of 3,120,967 tonnes (and 87.6 billion square metres), according to the data released by EDANA, the international Association serving the nonwovens and related industries. Since 2019, the European output has increased by nearly 9 per cent.

EDANA and wet wipes producers commit to further revise labelling

European Disposables and Nonwovens Association (EDANA) and member manufacturers of wet wipes have committed to revise on pack labelling to further raise consumer awareness on types of wipes and optimal disposal methods.
