Over 100 delegates attend Edana’s Nonwovens Circular Forum

Edana, the leading global association serving the nonwovens and related industries, has announced that with over 100 delegates from across the nonwovens industries in attendance, the first edition of Edana’s new Circular Nonwovens Forum successfully created a new platform for discussion on sustainability and circularity within nonwovens sector.

The Index20 Innovation Awards go live

The Index20 Innovation Awards are presented only once every three years for “Excellence in the nonwovens and related industries”. Originally due to be presented at the Index20 exhibition in April, since postponed until September 7-10, 2021, Edana has decided to present these coveted industry Awards live in an online ceremony on October 6, 2020.

Edana elects new board members for 2020-21

Edana, the leading global association serving the nonwovens and related industries, has elected new governors and a new team of officers for 2020 - 2021. Mikael Staal Axelsen (Fibertex) remains as chair, supported by vice-chairs Åsa Johansson (Essity, Sweden) and David Lamb (Nonwovenn, UK). Giorgio Mantovani (Corman, Italy) is elected as Treasurer.

EU to see 20-fold rise in nonwoven face mask output: Edana

EU production of face masks, essential for tackling coronavirus, is set to rise 20-fold by November this year compared to pre-crisis times. This means that EU-based producers will be able to make the equivalent of 1.5 billion three-layer masks a month, according to figures released by Edana, a global association serving nonwovens and related industries.

Rolf Frischknecht bags 2020 Edana LCA award

Rolf Frischknecht has bagged the 2020 Edana LCA Lifetime Achievement Award. The award, which recognises the outstanding contributions in promoting life cycle thinking and improving LCA approaches, was presented at the 30th annual conference of SETAC, the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, which was held online from May 3-7, 2020.

EDANA releases European annual statistics for 2019

EDANA elects Michael Staal Axelsen as board chair
