APPLICATION AND PERSPECTIVES

The Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies was established in April 2005 as a partnership between the Woodrow Wilson International Centre for Scholars and the Pew Charitable Trusts. It has produced the first publicly available on-line inventory of nanotechnology-based consumer products. As of August 25, 2009, the nanotechnology consumer products inventory contains 1015 products or product lines. The inventory has grown by nearly 379 % (from 212 to 1015 products) since it was released in March 2006. Products have been grouped according to relevant main categories that are loosely based on publicly available consumer product classification systems.
