Andritz Nonwoven, part of international technology group Andritz, has received an order from TTL, German manufacturer, developer and seller of needlefelts, to supply complete needlepunch line. Start-up of the line is scheduled for summer 2017. TTL chose Andritz after conducting several test runs at Andritz Asselin-Thibeau technical center in Elbeuf, France.

The scope of supply includes opening and blending equipment, dynamic card, and crosslapper in combination with Andritz technology for drafting, needling, and unwinding/combining. Andritz will also supply the process control in addition to the unique, closed-loop ProDyn system, thus providing continuous web monitoring and optimisation of the end product.

The high-capacity Andritz needlepunch neXline eXcelle line will produce industrial textiles such as nonwoven felts made of different polymers like polyester, polypropylene, polyacrylnitrile, aramid, PPS, polyimide, and viscose. Additionally, the line will be used to manufacture individual products for different dedicated technical applications, for example for protection against fire and heat in the automotive and electrical industries.

TTL forms needlefelt for technical applications such as filter media, laundry textiles, and industrial textiles. ANDRITZ is a globally leading supplier of plants, equipment, and services for the pulp and paper industry, the metalworking and steel industries. (PA)
