Welspun launches ₹1100-cr manufacturing unit in Telangana

Welspun Group's fully integrated vertical Welspun Flooring Ltd recently launched a manufacturing facility in Hyderabad with a potential annual capacity of 40 million square metres (sq m). Set up with an investment of ₹1,100 crore, the facility is spread across 200 acres, employing close to 1,600 members. Its initial annual capacity is 10 million sq m.

In recent years, the global trade of tarpaulins, awnings and sunblinds has been moving up with high growth rate. The total trade increased by 22.11 per cent from 2016 to 2018, according to the data from TexPro. The global trade of tarpaulins, awnings and sunblinds was $3,249.69 million in 2016, which increased to $3,968.12 million in 2018.
