Cristex Composite launches AscoBV Slitter & Rewinder

UK supplier of fibres, fabrics and resin systems for the composites market, Cristex Composite Materials has launched the AscoBV Slitter & Rewinder, which is designed to convert master rolls of fabric to narrow width tapes for use in multiple applications. It can produce crush cut tapes from glass fibre or carbon fibre fabrics in various weights.

MVP to build new manufacturing plant in Knox County

Magnum Venus Products (MVP), a premier manufacturer of composite application equipment, will build a new $12 million manufacturing facility in Knox County, in the US state of Tennessee. The new plant, to be constructed in two phases, in the Hardin Business Park will consolidate MVP’s current Knoxville operations and provide room for future growth.

The University of Nottingham has announced that the university’s team has secured £10.3 million Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) grant as government funds for new research into pioneering composite manufacturing techniques.
