Hexcel to show multiaxial reinforcements at UK expo

Hexcel Corporation, a leading advanced composites company, is set to display its HiMax range of multiaxial reinforcements at Composites Engineering 2016 in Birmingham, UK, on November 2 and 3, 2016, on stand L162. HiMax fabrics are used in the automotive, marine, sports, and industrial markets, and can be specifically tailored for each customer’s needs.

Daniela Ryf who won the women’s Ironman World Cycling Championship, was riding a custom made IA FRD reinforced by TeXtreme bicycle. The second place winner was Mirinda Carfae, who also rode a Felt IA FRD cycle. Carfrae had earlier won the 2013 and 2014 championship, giving the Felt IA FRD, four consecutive women’s Ironman World Championships.

Owens Corning expanding Indian composites facility

In order to support the fast growing India glass fibre market, which is growing at double digit growth rates, US based Owens Corning is investing $110 million in expanding capacity at its Indian composites facility. The company will invest in a 80,000 ton glass melter at the Indian plant, which is expected to start operations in early 2018.
