The Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI) displayed its latest innovations in smart clothing at the recently concluded Computex Taipei, Asia's biggest tech trade fair.

Among the innovations presented was TTRI's intelligent leggings, a compression gear that can detect which muscles are working. These leggings capture real-time data which can be seen on a smartphone app, enabling a runner to take steps to prevent injury.

Another innovation showcased was FlyinGlove, a remote control system packed into a small black glove.

TTRI also displayed some of its recent products like smart clothing for senior citizens, LED active high-visibility garments for police officers, and biometric shirts at this year's show.

The five-day event Computex Taipei saw participation of 1,600 exhibitors from 29 countries. (RKS)
