Healthcare company Essity is divesting its operations in Russia, with a deal approved by Russian authorities set to finalise in Q2 2023. The move follows Essity's 2022 decision to exit the Russian market, resulting in an asset impairment of around SEK 1.7 billion. Russian operations constituted around 2 per cent of Essity's total net sales in 2022.

The hygiene and health company, Essity, is collaborating with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and The Consumer Goods Forum’s (CGF) Forest Positive Coalition of Action initiative to further strengthen responsible forest management, nurture high conservation value forests and increase the certification of forest operations in north-western Russia.

Lukoil, one of the largest publicly traded, vertically integrated oil and gas companies in the world, has made an investment decision to set up a polypropylene (PP) plant at the Nizhny Novgorod Refinery.
