UK’s Composite Integration collaborating with Metyx USA

Composite Integration, the UK-based company which continued its growth last year with distributor agreements across Europe, is now collaborating with Metyx USA, in a move to extend its distributor network worldwide. This strengthens the existing relationship between the two companies which have been working together for Turkey RTM industry since 2007.

UK’s engineering group Nèos setting up group headquarters in Derby

Leading engineering group, Nèos International, is setting up its group headquarters in Derby. The move will also create a permanent home for the group’s new specialist composite facility, run by subsidiary, Nèos Composites – creating up to 150 jobs and technical apprenticeships in the city, and hundreds more through indirect supply chain employment.

Trade body Composites UK announces new board of directors

Trade body for UK’s composites industry Composites UK has announced the five people nominated onto its board of directors this year by its member companies. Luke Vardy of Cygnet Texkimp, Jonathan Howard of Dura Composites, Ben Wilson of MPM, Matt Bradney of Prodrive Composites and Adam Black of Technical Fibre Products have been voted in for 2021-23.

NCC, Motivation design wheelchair seat from green composite materials

The National Composites Centre (NCC) and Motivation have together designed and manufactured a wheelchair seat pan entirely from sustainable, green composite materials. The new seat pan is not only better for the environment but is also lighter than the plywood equivalent, with potential to significantly improve the quality of life for disabled people.

Germany’s Covestro collaborating with carboNXT to recycle composites

Covestro has joined hand with recycling specialist carboNXT to recycle composites. Recycling of composites is a challenge since waste consists of different materials that cannot be easily separated from one another. From the processed waste supplied by Covestro, CarboNXT will produce high-quality new compounds of carbon fibre-reinforced polycarbonate.

France’s ArianeGroup & ESA to make lightweight composites in rockets

ArianeGroup has joined hands with the European Space Agency (ESA) as the lead contractor for the PHOEBUS (Prototype of a Highly OptimizEd Black UpperStage) project. The programme aims to further the development of composite technologies, for the future upper stage of the launch vehicle, Ariane 6. ArianeGroup is a French leader in space launchers.

UK's Diamorph Group Holdings to acquire composites maker Permali

Manchester, UK-based Diamorph Group Holdings Limited has signed a conditional agreement to acquire Permali Gloucester Limited, a Gloucester-based manufacturer of composites, predominately for the defence sector. Diamorph, a manufacturer of proprietary advanced materials, is anticipating completion of the Permali acquisition within the coming months.
