Karl Mayer, Germany’s leading supplier of machines and equipment for producing textile structures for reinforcing composites, displayed its latest range of composite machinery at the JEC World 2017 expo, an international composites event, held at Paris, from March 14 to 16, 2017. The company opened a whole new range of multiaxial textiles at the show.

Aerospace composites supplier Argosys opens Taiwan unit

Supplier of advanced composites and related materials to the Asia Pacific aerospace industry, Argosy International inaugurated its 2,000 square metre manufacturing facility in the Taichung Duty Free Zone in Taiwan. The new facility includes a clean room, cutting table, and freezer to process, cut to shape composite kits and will be qualified to AS9100.

Hexcel to supply carbon NCF to auto composites maker Mubea

Hexcel has been awarded a contract for the first time by Mubea, a supplier of composites parts to the automotive industry. Hexcel will supply the company with Himax non crimp fabric (NCF) for the manufacture of carbon fibre monocoque chassis, which will be produced by resin transfer moulding (RTM) and use several different textile formats.
