Tierra, a Swedish outdoor apparel brand, has unveiled a new 100 per cent bio-based jacket Deterra, made with using natural elements and Fulgar’s innovative bio-yarn EVO. With EVO, Fulgar, a leader in man-made fibre market for the textile sector, has launched a new way of making yarns, in a perfect synthesis between performance and environment.

The sportswear’s innovative drive has inspired the Deterra Jacket, a technical jacket that is fully free from fossil-based material and uses exclusively bio-based elements. The exterior fabric is made with EVO by Fulgar, a polyamide produced from castor oil, while the padding is in wool from German sheep and Tencel yarn derived from wood cellulose. Finally, the buttons are in corozo nut from the Tagua palm, and the hood fastens with a simple knot instead of the usual plastic stopper.

The Deterra Jacket has two versions, Deterra Hood Jacket and Deterra Shirt Jacket. It is the ideal choice for showing off the Tierra brand’s Deterra line of hi-tech garments made without using any fossil based material.

The cutting-edge Deterra Jacket has won two important awards, the ISPO prize for Eco Achievement Apparel 2017/2018 and the Sustainable Innovation in the Outdoors Industry Prize 2017. Both these accolades are in recognition of the product’s outstanding sustainability.

Suitable for any textile application and ideal for the sportswear, EVO by Fulgar is ultra-light, super stretch and extremely breathable, dries quickly, does not need ironing, and has thermal properties. (GK)
