Celanese raises LDPE & EVA polymers prices

Celanese, a global technology leader in the production of differentiated chemistry solutions and specialty materials, has announced an increase in prices for low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and high performance ethylene vinyl acetate (Ateva EVA), a primary raw material for the textile industry, effective from April 1, 2016.

Ateva EVA price has be increase by $0.03/lb in North and South Americas and by $50/MT in Asia. While LDPE's price has been increased by $0.04/lb in North and South Americas, and by $50/MT in Asia.

The several applications of LDPE include textiles, coatings for packaging materials, plastic bags, containers and electrical insulation. EVA is used as adhesives in textile, sports equipment and packaging. (NA)
