Composites Germany appoints new chairman and CEO

The trade association, Composites Germany has appointed Michael Effing as the chairman and Elmar Witten as the chief executive officer (CEO). These selected members will be serving for a year. The association aims to strengthen the German composites industry, particularly in the field of research, and take account of overlapping interests.

Composites Germany is the trade association of four major organisations in the fibre composites. The association’s member organisations are Federation of Reinforced Plastics e.V. (AVK), Carbon Composites e.V. (CCeV), CFK-Valley (CFK is the German abbreviation for carbon fibre reinforced plastics), and VDMA Forum Composites Technology, who use Composites Germany as a forum to bundle their abilities and promote the future-oriented themes of high performance composites and automated production technology which are particularly relevant in Germany.

Effing is the chairman of the Board of the Federation of Reinforced Plastics (AVK) and managing director of Advanced Materials Advisory & Consultancy (AMAC) GmbH, while Witten is the managing director of AVK. (RR)
