CTC Global, a privately held developer, marketer, and manufacturer of the hybrid carbon fibre composite core, has announced that it has signed an agreement with Xenstra Consulting based in Germany and named Peter Hughes, managing director for Xenstra, as vice president for business development in Western Europe.

Peter Hughes is responsible for expanding CTC's presence in Germany, France, Benelux, UK, Ireland, and Scandinavia. Hughes and his associate, Katarina Hughes Straka, will work very closely with the current CTC business development team and will report to Anne McDowell, vice president commercial operations.

Prior to joining CTC Global, Hughes undertook diverse strategic business development projects for engineering companies in the energy and defence logistics sectors. He holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Durham, UK and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering degree from Aston University in Birmingham, UK, as part of a sandwich course undertaken at Lansing Bagnall Ltd, UK.

Anne McDowell said, “With a substantial engineering and business development background in the international energy sector, Peter Hughes will help CTC Global's growing customer base in Western Europe learn how they can leverage the attributes of the ACCC conductor. With our Western European customers facing the substantial challenge of opening the grid to more renewables and powering a growing fleet of electric vehicles, Peter's support couldn't come at a better time.”

Hughes said, “We identify closely with CTC and its products, but just as significantly with its highly ethical values. We look forward to helping the company achieve its rightful place as the leading supplier of high performance and innovative high capacity low sag conductors in the European market place, as already proved in other world markets."
