Faurecia, one of the world's leading automotive equipment suppliers, has enhanced the expertise of its TechCenter in Brieres-les-Scelles, France with the addition of CoverTech, a new expertise centre for automotive seat covers.

The new CoverTech facility works with automakers to explore new trends along with the comprehensive range of simulation and testing resources available at the site. CoverTech aims to design, cut, sew and assemble automotive seat covers.

“Our conventional seat cover business is on the verge of a major transformation that stems from digitising the process of designing, industrialising and manufacturing. It is driven by a market that demands enhanced seat solutions. CoverTech gives us the means to strengthen our leading position in three areas: perceived quality, affordable innovation and well-being on board,” said Jean Luc Tete, vice president comfort and trim, Faurecia Automotive Seating.

CoverTech will enhance the role of Faurecia Automotive Seating as a comprehensive supplier, bringing improvements in efficiency, quality, flexibility and perceived value.

Brieres-les-Scelles centre has two other expertise centers, FrameTech for seat frames and e-Lab for seat electronics. (NA)
