Denmark-based and Jørgen Bech Madsen-led, Fibertex Nonwovens A/S said it has acquired Non Woven Solutions, a US based company into production and marketing of needlepunch nonwovens.

Fibertex Nonwovens currently has only a limited presence in this market and this acquisition offers Fibertex opportunities to grow sales of its value-added products in the US.

Fibertex hopes to penetrate the composites and automotive industries in particular, but it said the acquisition is also expected to have a positive effect in areas like wound care, filtration, bedding and construction.

In addition to needlepunch nonwoven facilities, the Non Woven Solutions plant is also equipped to surface treat with flame singeing, calendaring, and also precision slit/rewind in both roll-to-roll and single-knife style.

Non Woven Solutions also offers off-line needling for multi-layer composites and it can also produce high density felts from layers.

On the other hand, Fibertex Nonwovens A/S is a market leading manufacturer of nonwovens for industrial and technical applications.

With its corporate office in Aalborg, Denmark, and manufacturing sites in Denmark, the Czech Republic, France, the USA and South Africa, Fibertex is globally represented.

Since its foundation in 1968, Fibertex has continuously expanded and today manufactures nonwovens for customers all over the world for many different applications.

“The product range of both companies will remain unchanged, and Non Woven Solutions for the time being, continue operating under its existing name,” Fibertex said. (AR)
