Hexagon Composites' wholly-owned subsidiary, Hexagon Raufoss, has received an order from PT Autogas in Indonesia, a leading conversion company for natural gas heavy-duty vehicles, transit buses, and passenger cars, to supply 1,000 cylinders for conversion of taxis and government vehicles to compressed natural gas (CNG).

The deliveries will mainly be in third quarter of 2016. Indonesia is quickly adopting CNG as an alternative to diesel and gasoline as a result of a government oil-to-gas campaign. The program's goal is to reduce pollution and diversify fuel in the public transportation sector.

Hexagon Composites' cylinders are ideal for heavy-duty vehicles because they are 30 per cent the weight of steel, which reduces fuel consumption and extends range between refilling.

Thomas Nurhakim, president director, PT Autogas said, “Our company's mission is to provide natural gas solutions that combine the latest technology with the highest standard of durability, reliability, and safety. We use Hexagon Composites' cylinders for our conversions because of their industry leadership”

Hexagon Composites ASA is a publicly listed company with its headquarters in Aalesund, Norway. The Group develops and produces composite pressure cylinders and systems for storage and transportation of various gases. (GK)
