CDI the leading global supplier of Prepreg machines and specialist composites processing equipment has installed a CD6105 Combi machine at Huntsman's Advanced Technology Center in The Woodlands, Texas, in the United States.

The CD6105 Combi machine's high degree of accuracy and consistency supports the development of processing parameters for Prepreg production as well as physical properties of existing and new resin systems. The CD6015's small foot print enables ease of setup and operation making it an easy addition for laboratories as well as small production operations.

CDI has designed and constructed a modified machine that is entirely unique to Huntsman and their project requirements. It combines a hot melt processing capability with a solution coating system. It is fully automated, facilitating ease of setup and control, and greatly improves data collection capabilities that in turn improves processing evaluation and repeatability.

"This affiliation is a perfect fit for our small R&D production Prepreg machine. It is companies like Huntsman seeking to develop advanced resins that has allowed for 'push button' and 'on demand' Prepreg technology to become a reality", comments Keith McConnell, President of CDI.

In addition to the development of resin systems and processes, the versatility of CDI's CD6105 machines make them perfectly suited for small batch Prepreg runs and the production of thin width materials.

Since the launch of the CD6105 Combi machine earlier this year, CDI has already secured a number of sales throughout Europe, the United States and China.
