A technological symposium “Woven Technologies for Technical Textiles' – Special Focus on Filtration & Geotextiles” will be held on next October 18th in New Delhi, organized by Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) and Business Co-ordination House (BCH).

Demand for textile machinery in India primarily satisfies traditional textile needs, although the demand for ad hoc machinery is also growing, mostly for emerging technical and innovative textiles. Among the sectors showing a high request for investments are filtration and geotextiles. The filtration sector in India is growing at an annual rate of 17-18%. For the geotextile sector, on the other hand, India's rapid rate of economic development has created a high demand for infrastructure (roads, bridges, canals, etc.).

Italian technology will also play an essential role in emerging sectors as a partner for India's textile producers. With the aim of presenting to local manufacturers the broad range of machinery specially designed for the production of innovative filtration and geotextiles, ACIMIT (the Association representing Italian Machinery Manufacturers for the Textile Industry) and its Indian partner BCH (Business Co-ordination House) have organized a symposium directed at India's textile producers to be held on 18 October.

The event will be held in New Delhi, with the participation of some major Italian machinery manufacturers active in the sector: CORINO, ITEMA, PTMT, RAMISCH GUARNERI, ROJ, ROSTONI/ERREBI, SMIT, all of whom will be presenting to India's business community their latest and most advanced technologies for the production of geotextile and filtration products.

The symposium is part of the “Machines Italia in India” program financed by the Ministry of Economic Development, whose organization has been entrusted to Federmacchine (the Federation of Italian Manufacturers of Capital Goods). This initiative aims to support the globalization activities of the sector's businesses in one of the world's fastest growing and most dynamic economic areas.
