Kisling, manufacturer of high-quality adhesives, sealants and casting compounds, will display structural adhesives for the high-performance bonding of plastics, fibre composites, elastomers, metals, glass and ceramics at Composites Europe in Stuttgart during September 10-12. Structural adhesives are ideal for vehicle manufacture and lightweight construction.

Material connections in lightweight construction and in vehicle manufacture are subject to high loads. They are exposed to vibrations and material-related tension and must also withstand increased temperatures and alternating mechanical stresses. Kisling has developed a range of high-performance adhesives especially for the demanding bonding of composites and plastics with other materials.

Ergo. 1665 – fast, a two-component methacrylate structural adhesive, has an excellent adhesion spectrum which covers various materials and, due to its elasticity, can compensate for tension caused by major fluctuations in temperature. It demonstrates very good adhesion to many materials, bridges gaps of up to 10 mm and has excellent resistance to dynamic loads. Ergo. 1665 achieves 50 per cent of its final strength at 23° after only 15 to 18 minutes – and achieves this without the use of an activator.

Ergo. 1675 is two-component methacrylate structural odourless adhesive, specially developed for the fast and durable bonding of plastics and composites. It is ideal for applications where tension has to be compensated for, such as those caused by vibrations, oscillations or thermal stresses between different materials. In approximately five minutes the adhesive reaches up to 10 N/mm2, which allows fast processing. It is almost odourless and difficult to ignite. A change in colour from blue to green makes the hardening process visible.

Ergo.7430 – universal, high-strength 2K epoxy resin structural adhesive, is a universally applicable construction adhesive with particular adhesive force when it comes to metals. It is also suitable for bonding glass, ceramics and plastics. Ergo.® 7440, the impact-resistant 2K epoxy resin structural adhesive, is a master in the structural bonding of composites and metals. Black-tinted ergo. 7440 delivers optimum results, especially on composites such as CFRP and GFRP materials, and does so over a wide temperature range. (SV)
