Kordsa appoints Ali Calıskan as new CEO

Kordsa, a leader in tire, composite, and construction reinforcement technologies and manufacturer of industrial nylon and polyester yarn, has announced that Ali Caliskan, serving as the chief operating officer of Europe, Middle East, and Africa of Kordsa since July 2015, has been appointed as the new CEO of the company after serving 31 years at Kordsa.

Cenk Alper, the former CEO of Sabanci Holding affiliate Kordsa since 2013, has been appointed as the president of Sabanci Holding Industry Group, the largest industrial and financial conglomerate in Turkey, as of April 1, 2017.

Having graduated from Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Middle East Technical University in 1983, Çaliskan started his professional career in Soyut Holding as project engineer in 1984. He joined Kordsa in 1986 as technical office engineer, and from then on, he had taken part in significant projects within Kordsa during his career journey at Kordsa at various positions. During his positions as operations director of Indo Kordsa, Kordsa’s subsidiary in Indonesia, between 2010 and 2013, and as vice president in charge of operations between 2013 and 2015, he played an important role in developing Kordsa’s capacity and enhancing market volume in Asia Pacific region, which is strategically significant and has a growing tire industry. In July 2015, he was appointed as the chief operating officer of Europe, Middle East, and Africa region, and took an important role in R&D leadership and growing the market share of Turkey, the production and R&D hub of all Kordsa facilities around the world.
