Kordsa & Sabanci University launch DiCoMi project

Sabanci Holding affiliate Kordsa, a leader in reinforcement technologies with its pioneering technologies, and Sabanci University, listed as the most entrepreneurial and innovative university in Turkey by the Ministry of Science, Industry, and Technology, have unveiled a new project, The Directional Composites Through Manufacturing Innovation (DiCoMi).

Composite Technologies Centre of Excellence, conjointly established by Kordsa and Sabanci University, is positioned as a technology hub that brings together R & D, innovation and production under one roof in composite technology. The DiCoMi project, in which Composite Technologies Centre of Excellence is involved, obtained €3 million funding from the European Union.

Kordsa and Sabanci University will carry out the project within the Composite Technologies Centre of Excellence which has been officially qualified as a R&D centre by the Ministry and is a pioneer in Turkey and an important example in the world with its university-industry collaborative business model.

The DiCoMi project will be run by a joint consortium that includes Kordsa and Sabanci University is supported by the European Union. Within the scope of the project, which will strengthen Kordsa’s global reinforcer position, system, software, and material development will be carried out in order to produce composite materials with 3D printer technology. The DiCoMi project, which will last 2 years and will be given a contribution of €3 million, will enable domestic and foreign qualified human force to be exchanged within the EU member countries and in the associated non-EU countries. The DiCoMi project will be realised with the participation of 16 project partners from 11 countries under Horizon 2020 program. (GK)
