Carlisle SynTec Systems, a leading manufacturer of single-ply roofing materials, is pleased to announce the addition of 1.5" x 2.75" Oval Barbed Plates for use with its Sure-Flex PVC polyester-reinforced membranes.

These new plates better distribute stress along membrane seams and improve splice delaminating strength in mechanically fastened PVC roof systems, resulting in superior wind uplift resistance and higher wind speed approvals compared to systems installed with traditional fastening plates. Wind uplift testing was completed at FM to gain approval for 10'-wide Sure-Flex PVC and Sure-Flex KEE membranes fastened with the Oval Barbed Plate and the HP-X Fastener spaced 6" oc.

The assemblies achieved a Factory Mutual 1-90 rating over 22-gauge, Grade C steel decking. “Carlisle's position of industry leadership is one we take very seriously, which is why we're always trying to improve our roofing products and systems in large and small ways,” said John Greko, PVC product manager for Carlisle. “The Oval Barbed Plate is a system -enhancing product that demonstrates our commitment to providing our customers with superior quality.”

Carlisle SynTec Systems, headquartered in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, has been manufacturing single-ply membrane roofing systems for half a century. Carlisle SynTec is a business segment of Carlisle Construction Materials and has membrane manufacturing facilities in Carlisle, Pa; Greenville, Ill.; Senatobia, Miss.; and Tooele, Utah.
