For years, high-tech fabrics from Schoeller Textil have played a significant role in this niche market. Outlier was the first brand in the USA to really recognize the needs of commuter cyclists and since has offered comfortable, stylish and functional solutions.

The urban commuter concept is based on the idea of making it unnecessary to change clothes as soon as you arrive at work. Outlier developed the first pants in Schoeller functional fabric that look good both on the bike and in the office and are pleasant to wear. Now the company has extended its urban collection to include various jackets and pants in high-tech Schoeller fabrics.

On the US west coast too, the commuter cyclist scene is also growing. Brands like Mission Workshop, who manufactures high-quality, super-comfortable jackets and in Schoeller materials as well as bags and packs, are based in San Francisco. Just like Levi’s, which has taken the popular Commuter Jeans with water and dirt-repelling NanoSphere and 3XDRYfeelgood technology and developed an entire commuter line that currently includes a casual jeans jacket with the c_change climate membrane.

In Europe, the English cycling label Rapha has been making chic functional clothing in Schoeller materials since their inception in 2004, such as a retro cap or elegant cycling trousers with water-repelling 3XDRYfinishing technology. Chic, comfortable and functional.

As more and more people around the world are taking to the bike, both in everyday life and when travelling, the borders between business fashion, travel wear and cycle wear will become increasingly blurred. Many new developments from Schoeller Textil and Schoeller Technologies, and the innovative knitwear from Eschler – a schoeller brand collection are ideal for this new realm.
