Pegas reconsiders its new production line location

Pegas Nonwovens has reconsidered on its decision for the installment of its new production line in Egypt or the Czech Republic.  The recent demand structure and product mix developments are the main reasons for the company to reassess the installation location.

Expected commercialisation of certain technical products would also necessitate the need to install specialised additional equipment.

“Considerations regarding the change of the installation location for the production line prove the overall flexibility of this new concept, which makes it possible to decide on the installation of a production line on the basis of current market conditions. Presently, Pegas is preparing both alternatives so as to avoid significant potential delays,” said Frantisek Rezac, CEO of Pegas Nonwovens.

Earlier in September 2015, the company had announced its contract for the delivery of a new S-TwinMB-S 2600 RF4s Compact BiCo production line with an approximate production capacity of 10 thousand tonnes for its production plant in Egypt.

The company is currently considering the possibility of installing this production line in the Czech Republic, which is currently under construction.

“Additionally, a submission for investment incentives in the Czech Republic is being considered. The final decision will be based on expected return on the investment and its contribution to the flexibility to serve our customers. The decision should be taken by the board of directors in June of this year,” Rezac concluded. (NA)
