The RKW Group, a global leader of films and nonwovens, will be presenting the latest generation of its hydroentangled spunbond nonwovens at Techtextil in Frankfurt in May.

The 100 per cent polypropylene spunbond nonwoven, RKW HyJet is available with thermo-plastic polyurethane (TPU) coating. The absolutely unique composite offers customers from the automotive, construction or furniture industries a cost-effective and simultaneously high-quality alternative to the normal polyester-coated nonwovens for a number of application areas.

Durable, waterproof and breathable, TPU coatings offer a number of benefits in the textile area. The soft, durable and tear-resistant material is available in various colours and weights and can be supplied with diverse additional features and additives. In combination with the new TPU coating, RKW’s HyJet technology enables a wide spectrum of applications from high-quality roofing underlays, to automotive interior trims and artificial leather materials for furniture, the company said in a statement.

Ludger Kuhn, general manager of RKW said, “Our customers want high-performance nonwovens which optimally fulfil their specific requirements both in terms of quality and also economy. As the pioneer of the inline production of hydroentangled spunbond nonwovens, we continuously invest in the further development of our products. The absolutely unique RKW HyJet composite once again highlights the innovative momentum and technical strengths of our group in the field of technical textiles.”

The RKW Group offers a broad range of product and service solutions in films and nonwovens for the hygiene and medical field, for the converting industry, for industrial and consumer packaging as well as for the agricultural and construction sectors. (GK)
