Radiation Shield Technologies (RST) was recently awarded patent protection in South Korea for its anti-nuclear protective garment. The protective anti-nuclear garment is made of Demron, the only polymeric nano metal fabric to offer true anti-nuclear radiation protection.

The Demron suit is NFPA 2007 Class 2 Certified and offers unsurpassed chemical, biological, radiological, and heat stress (CBRN) protection. And, unlike its competitors, RST’s lightweight and flexible fabric is scientifically proven to enhance performance and survivability.

With escalating nuclear threats from its neighbor North Korea, the South Korean government is increasing its anti-nuclear counter measures and recognizes the unique capabilities of RST’s technology by awarding it Korean patent protection (Patent KR2012034215). In addition to the North Korean threats, South Korea is also focused on providing protection for its 23 nuclear reactors and 12,000 nuclear power workers.

Working with their Korean distribution partners GODO ENG and In-Star, RST has already delivered products to The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), numerous fire departments, the National 119 Rescue Service, and the Korean Special Response Teams.

“RST is committed to continuing its efforts to provide the best possible protection for the people of South Korea,” said Ronald DeMeo, M.D. president of Radiation Shield Technologies, the surgeon and entrepreneur who invented Demron.

About Demron and Radiation Shield Technologies (RST)

For more than 20 years, RST has pioneered high-performance, multi-hazard fabrics employing Demron for military, firefighters, law enforcement and medical personnel. Demron combines the metallic properties of gamma radiation reduction, trauma reduction and thermal conductivity with advanced nano polymer technology, and is uniquely capable of providing true anti-nuclear protection and heat stress reduction without compromising chemical or biological hazard protection.
