Saudi German Company (SGN), the leading nonwoven producer in the Middle East, has announced a major capital expansion program that will double its hygiene nonwoven capacity by the third quarter of next year.

The construction of a new multi-line nonwoven manufacturing plant on a 70,000m2 site near Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is currently underway. The first 4.2 meter Reifenhäuser production line will be delivered in early 2012.

In addition, all three of the existing Reifenhäuser production lines located in SGN's Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia facility, will be upgraded in 2011. These upgrades will improve product quality and increase productivity while adding unique product capabilities.

Saudi German Company is a leading international manufacturer of polypropylene spunmelt nonwovens for the hygiene, agricultural and industrial markets. Established in 1996, SGN is the first and largest spunbond manufacturer in the Middle East. Fabric produced from its three modern Reifenhäuser lines were shipped to 16 countries in five continents in 2010.
