Seminar on Taiwanese nonwoven technologies in Mumbai

At a recent Mumbai seminar organized by technicaltextile.net (an initiative of Fibre2Fashion) for the Taiwan Nonwoven Fabrics Industry Association (TNFIA), Indian entrepreneurs got a glimpse of the latest nonwoven technologies, equipments and fabric innovations from Taiwan. 
 
The seminar on "Taiwanese Nonwoven Technologies" hosted on March 21, 2014, saw seven Taiwanese companies showcasing their latest and cost-effective nonwoven innovations to over 20 only-by-invite delegates from the Indian nonwoven sector. 
 
The evening began with a presentation from Mr Norman Chiu, Chairman of TNFIA and also General Manager of Web-Pro Corp, which specializes in spun-lace fabric products mainly used in hygiene applications, such as medical gauze, wet tissue, skin-care cloth, wipes, facial mask and thermobond products for use in diapers, sanitary napkins and protective clothing. 
 
Mr Steven Chen of Aero Pro Filters presented their range of nonwoven fabrics, filter media, activated carbon filter, masks and caps. 
 
Mr. Simon Chou, Director, Hsinnjy Industrial Co. Ltd., highlighted their focus on high quality standards that was supported by various international certifications. He also spoke about their company’s R&D initiatives for promotion of sustainable and eco-friendly products using recycled materials. 
 
Next was, Mr Darren Hsueh along with his father Mr Chin Hsueh from Full Men Nonwoven Fabric Co. Ltd which specializes in thermal bond nonwoven, hot air non-woven (Air through Nonwoven), laminated fabrics (Reinforcement Cloth) and are widely used in masks, sanitary napkins, wet paper towels, diapers, industrial dust jacket and many other purposes. 
 
Mr Alex Yu, President of Chiefwell Engineering Co. Ltd., talked about high precision rollers and metallurgy as the hallmark of their machinery for nonwoven applications and took pride in competing with technology from Japan and Germany. 
 
Among a few of the Indian companies which attended the workshop were Ballarpur Industries Ltd (Bilt), Green Infrastructures Systems Pvt Ltd, Indofil Industries Ltd, Birla Cellulose, Flexituff International Limited, Bekaert Carding Solution Pvt. Ltd., Radiant Healthcare (India) Pvt. Ltd., etc. 
 
The seminar culminated in a one-one-one business interaction between the Indian entrepreneurs and the Taiwanese company representatives.
