Suominen appoints 3 new product development engineers

Suominen, a globally leading supplier of nonwovens, is strengthening its global R&D team by appointing three new product development engineers.

The appointments essentially support Suominen's strategy, which focuses on growth and product leadership. Successful execution of the strategy will realize Suominen's vision to be a market driven product leader.

Johanna Siren, M.Sc. in fibre and textile technology, has been appointed product development engineer, effective 10 August 2015. She has recently graduated from Tampere University of Technology. She majored in fibre technology and her minor was Tissue Engineering. Johanna Siren will be located in Nakkila, Finland.

Avinav Nandgaonkar, Ph.D., fiber and polymer science has been appointed product development engineer, effective 19 August 2015. He has recently graduated from North Carolina State University, with strong background in textiles, polymer, nanofibres, material science, chemistry, and fibre science. He has a M.Sc. in textile engineering from the same university, adding up to five plus year of research experience in functional nano-composite preparation for oil/water filtration, tissue engineering, thin conductive film, and dye degradation applications. He will be located in Windsor Locks, CT, US.

Nasim Farahbakhsh, Ph.D., fibre and polymer science has been appointed product development engineer, effective 15 September 2015. She has recently graduated as a Ph.D. from North Carolina State University, where she currently works as a graduate research assistant. She got her M.Sc., textile chemistry & fibre science, from Amir Kabir University of Technology, and her B.Sc., textile chemistry & fibre science from Isfahan University of Technology. She has worked for five years as an industrial engineering consultant at Mashad Group. Nasim Farahbakhsh will be located in Windsor Locks, CT, US. (GK)
