Technical textiles maker SRF posts 13.2% jump in Q1 profit

In its unaudited standalone results for the first fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2016, Indian producer of technical textiles, chemicals and polymers, SRF Ltd posted a 13.22 per cent year on year jump in net profits.

In a BSE filing, the company said it recorded a standalone net profit of Rs 119.49 crore for the first quarter of fiscal 2017, as compared to Rs 105.53 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2015.

Total income also increased from Rs 970.82 crore in the prior fiscal's first quarter to Rs 992.10 crore in the quarter under review, up 2.19 per cent.

Earlier last month, SRF had commissioned an upgraded technical textiles plant at Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh at a cost of Rs 53.06 crore as against the earlier estimated cost of Rs 66 crore.

In technical textiles, SRF product basket includes nylon tire cord fabrics, polyester tire cord fabrics, belting fabrics, coated fabrics, laminated fabrics, fishnet twines and industrial yarns. (AR)
