Toray to enhance production capacity of spunbond nonwoven

Toray Industries, has announced its plans of enhancement of production capacity of its high performance polypropylene spunbond nonwoven fabric at Toray Advanced Materials Korea, which manufactures and sells the material.

Toray Advanced Materials Korea will build an additional facility with a production capacity of 18,000 tons per year in the Gumi National Industrial Complex 5 in Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea. The new facility is expected to start operations in April 2018.

The decision to increase its PP spunbond production capacity is promoted as a part of the Asia, America and emerging country business expansion project and life innovation business expansion project.

In the PP spunbond business of Toray Group in Korea has annual production capacity of about 43,000 tons, Toray Polytech in China about 73,000 tons and P.T. Toray Polytech Jakarta about 19,000 tons, and it sells the material widely to the markets in Asian countries including Japan, Korea, China, ASEAN nations and India. (NA)
