Yinfan to make automotive refinish coatings for BASF

BASF’s Coatings Division has entered into a manufacturing agreement with Guangdong Yinfan Chemistry Co., Ltd., to manufacture automotive refinish coatings, targeting the non-premium segment for BASF, at Yinfan’s new plant in Jiangmen city, Guangdong province, China, using BASF formulas and technologies.

In a media release, Peter Fischer, senior vice president, Coatings Solutions Asia Pacific, BASF said, “Establishing a reliable, regional manufacturing footprint for automotive refinish coatings is important for fulfilling the growing market demands. Yinfan has outstanding competencies in ensuring production and quality. Partnering with Yinfan supports BASF’s ambitious plan in this fast-growing market.”

Qingtao Zhang, chairman of Yinfan said, “We are fully committed to meeting the stringent quality requirements of BASF in automotive refinish coatings. With our significant investment in advanced production systems, our new manufacturing facility strictly adheres to national construction and occupational safety standards, as well as environmental protection requirements.”

BASF’s Coatings division develops, produces, and markets innovative automotive coatings, automotive refinishes, and industrial coatings as well as decorative paints.
