Zund to showcase innovative cutter at Composites Europe

Zünd will be presenting innovative solutions at Composites Europe, which runs from September 22 to 24, 2015 in Stuttgart, Germany in hall 7, stand E31.

The Swiss cutter manufacturer will present a digital cutting solution, the G3 M-1600 that is versatile and made for the highest performance.

“With the G3 M-1600, Zünd Systemtechnik will present the perfect digital cutting system, tailor-made for the requirements of the composite market,” it said in a press release.

On a working surface of 1,330 x 1,600 mm, the G3 M-1600 processes any material, from pre-preg, dry weave and core materials right through to finished laminates.

The G3 cutter is CE-compliant and certified according to the safety standards of the US UL product safety label.

“No matter, whether carbon or glass fibre, aramid, rock wool or basalt fibre, hard foam or honeycomb, with its advanced tool concept, it is the right high-performance tool for any material,” Zund added.

It is suitable for stand-alone solutions as well as for semi-automatic use with small quantities, or also as a production system integrated into industrial environments.

Due to its open interfaces, the G3 Cutter is quick and easy to integrate into an existing production environment.

It is professionally documented in several languages and the user can operate the cutter via the user interface of the Zünd Cut Center in the language of his own country.

Also on show is the Power Rotary Tool (PRT), which is an extremely robust and powerful cutting tool that can meet the highest demands to process carbon and glass fibre fabrics.

The PRT is protected against electrically charged or abrasive dust and to ensure that materials with a low melting point can be processed in a low-impact way, the speed of the rotary knife can be adjusted.

Another product, the Pneumatic Oscillating Tool (POT) is suitable for core materials and with its powerful pneumatic drive and extended stroke of 8 mm, the POT cuts honeycomb as well as hard foams efficiently.

“Through its modular machine concept, Zünd's high-performance cutters can be adapted to the specific requirements of the dynamic composite market,” it informed. (AR)
