The Acme Group is proud to introduce ComfortSpan a unique new upholstery fabric using Dymetrol that is revolutionizing seating by allowing the designer to produce a foam free seat. Available only through The Acme Group, this creative textile solution is allowing artisans, designers and manufactures to transform seating design and fabrication. In 2011, ComfortSpan received a coveted Interzum Award in the Materials and Surfaces category, further highlighting its exceptional attributes.

The Acme Group is dedicated to the elimination of non-recyclable foam in seating applications. ComfortSpan is pioneering the way in this movement. The client benefits from endless design possibilities, considerable weight savings, enhanced comfort and durability therefore giving the client a more environmentally friendly end product.

“We feel very strongly about the sustainability of our products, and continue to make strides in seating suspension above and beyond our closest competitors. We have met the challenges of designers who want to innovate seating going into the future with ComfortSpan. Our extensive knowledge is based on over 96 years of experience with seating fabrics and countless successes.” said Neil Gross, President of The Acme Group.

The ComfortSpan line of products is comprised of ComfortSpan VX, a PVC coated Dymetrol; Comfort Span UX, a polyurethane coated Dymetrol; and ComfortSpan Karma, a flocked micro-suede material that is soft to the touch. All three versions can also be treated to meet flame-retardant requirements.

ComfortSpan further facilitates cost reductions by removing unnecessary components and simplifying processing in comparison to conventional seat construction, such as zigzag wires, clips, springs, insulators and a reduction of foam use. All of this effectively means an increase in productivity and design capability.
